Comparative Analysis of Ultra-Low Current Measurement Topologies With Implementation in 130 nm Technology

Radiation detectors need front-end electronics capable of measuring currents over a large dynamic range with femtoampere sensitivity. The goal this work is to find an alternative the legacy systems implemented using discrete components or technology nodes 350 nm higher. 130 evaluated on its leakage current performance assess employability in such applications. A comparative analysis three low measurement topologies, namely charge balancing, reset counting, and direct slope methods, carried out their different ranges evaluated. balancing method was found provide better greater accuracy. However, lower range, give faster results than other two methods comparable Also, application-specific integrated circuit implementing be linear throughout −1 fA $-1\,\,\mu \text{A}$ could measure accuracy ±7%.
